Hi. I'm Nathan.
I started out my professional career as a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) engineer doing aerodynamic design, shape optimization, and validation within the motorsport industry. Designing race cars was a childhood dream and a lot of fun. It was also during this time that I slowly began developing an interest in machine learning which would lead to my eventual departure from motorsport. I have since enjoyed working as an ML engineer and most recently as a data scientist in New York City. I have a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering 🚀 from the University of Cincinnati (Go Bearcats!) and an M.S. in Motorsport Engineering 🏎️ from Cranfield University in England.
This site started out as a way to showcase my skills while transitioning from a traditional engineering role to something within the ML/DS space. It has served its purpose, and is now slowly becoming more of a digital garden. Thanks in part to posts like [this], [this], [this], and 1MB.club, I’ve become interested in ruthlessly minimizing web bloat. Aesthetically, the design has been inspired by what I come across on brutalistwebsites.com and my affinity for minimalism. If this is your first time stopping by, welcome! Below are a few of my favorite posts:
I value privacy. I also view social media as largely parasitic and the behaviors that get rewarded on these platforms repulsive. Because of this, my online footprint is limited to the following:
